Met Film School Bursaries are grants to help students with their course-related costs. Students do not have to pay back the bursary.

Please Note: All Met Film School Bursaries for the current academic year have now been allocated.

Who is eligible to apply for a bursary?

Our bursaries are designed to support talented, passionate students who do not have sufficient funding to be able to study at the Met Film School. You may apply for a bursary if you comply with the following conditions:

- Demonstrable passion. You should write up to a 1000-word personal statement describing your passion for your chosen subject area (e.g film, animation etc.) as well as the reason(s) why you think you should receive an award

- Demonstrable talent. Your sample work can take the form of a showreel, short film, script, treatment, synopsis, short story, animation, interactive project, website, portfolio or other relevant creative project

- Demonstrable financial need. This should consist of a verifiable statement outlining your financial need. Please also provide details of other funding avenues that you are investigating, such as loans or grants from other organisations

You must also apply and be accepted onto one of the following programmes: One-Year Practical Filmmaking, One-Year Film, Visual Effects and Animation, Practical Filmmaking Diploma or one of our BA (Hons) degrees.

You may not apply for a bursary if:

- You cannot demonstrate a passion for your chosen subject area

- You cannot demonstrate talent in relation to your subject area

- You cannot demonstrate financial need

You may apply for a bursary to attend more than one course but you may only apply for one bursary at a time. Bursaries are not available for our short and part-time courses.

Amount of support

Met Film School bursaries are available in amounts of up to £5,000 per year. You will need to specify the amount of support you require. There is a limited amount of bursary funding available and as a result applications for smaller amounts may have a higher probablilty of success. All applications will be assessed once the application deadline has passed. You will need to find the funds to cover the rest of your tuition fees as well as money to maintain yourself (to include travel, accommodation and living expenses).
