Shooting in 3D forms the cutting edge of Stereoscopic learning, from cinematography to post-production. With both the film and TV industries making the leap into 3D, this course aims to provide you with the skills to leap with them. You will learn how to use stereoscopy to enhance and build your storytelling skills as well as learning the fundamental technical skills that will help you produce stunning 3D work.

 

You will train in specialist 3D kit as well as learning how to make use of prosumer and low cost systems that will allow you to continue producing your own 3D films after you leave the course.

 

This highly practical course lets you get your hands on the latest 3D technology and learn the latest techniques allowing you to stand out in a new commercial and creative sector that is expected to field explosive growth in the coming years.

Learning Goals

 

By the end of the programme, you will:

 

- be able to use 3D to enhance and develop your ability to tell a story

 

- have a firm understanding of the freedoms and limitations of using 3D in film and TV

 

- be able to plan and shoot 3D content effectively on both a technical and creative level

 

- understand and have the ability to post-produce, deliver and exhibit 3D material using a range of techniques and equipment

 

- have technical knowledge of specialist 3D equipment

 

- have learnt techniques for shooting in 3D with prosumer and low cost camera and editing kit to enable you to continue your 3D filmmaking without the need for expensive specialist kit once you leave the course

 

- understand the commercial position and considerations of 3D both historically and looking toward the future within film, home cinema and TV

Full-time: 03 May 2011 – 04 June 2011, £2,000

 

Full-time: 14 November 2011 – 16 December 2011, £2,000

 

 

Minimum Age: 18 at start of course

 

 

Entry Requirements: These courses are all open enrolment and there are no entry requirements.
