From Story To Screen In Eight Weeks is our longest running course and so far over 240 students have completed this programme. This course will provide you with practical experience in all of the key areas of filmmaking and culminates in the production of your own short film.

 

It covers the essential craft areas of screenwriting, use of camera and sound, casting and directing actors, editing using Final Cut Pro® and script development.

Learning Goals

 

- To know how to structure a script and how to tell a good story

 

- To be able to interpret a script and create a storyboard

 

- To understand how to use the camera to tell a story

 

- To shoot for the edit and edit a scene using Final Cut Pro®

 

- To manage a crew and to direct using the correct set procedures

 

- To cast and direct actors for the camera

 

- To record sound and to use it creatively to tell your story

 

- To understand the principles of continuity editing and how to operate a Final Cut Pro® system

Minimum Age: 18 at start of course
