Course Overview

Editing is a core part of the filmmaking process. Introduction to Final Cut Pro® is a highly practical introduction to professional editing software Final Cut Pro®, taught by active industry professionals, ideal for beginners looking for some hands-on experience.

This course will teach you to perform basic editing functions while becoming familiar with the user interface through practical exercises and examples.

Learning Goals

- To be confident in using Apple Mac computers and the Final Cut Pro® Interface

- To have the ability to navigate the FCP software and understand workflow guidelines

- To know how to capture or transfer media into the project

- To understand how to organise a project effectively

- To be able to edit sequences using all the key essential commands and tools

- To be able to use basic filters, transitions and motion and create titles

- To know how to check broadcast safe levels for export

- To be able to Import and Export files
