What do I need?

- To apply for the BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking you will need to be 18 years of age or older at the time the course starts

 

 

- Students will be required to provide evidence of a minimum of 160 tariff points and must have at least two A levels or an equivalent level three qualification such as a National Diploma or Baccalaureat / International Baccalaureat. For further information visit UCAS Tariff Table

 

 

- Students who are aged 21 or over are not required to provide evidence of academic qualifications as they are considered a mature student. Selection of mature students is reliant on assessing their application alone and will take into consideration any relevant skills and experience

 

 

- If you are a UK student aged 18, 19 or 20  you will need to additionally apply through UCAS.

 

 

- If you hold an international qualification you should check that the qualifications you hold are recognised in the UK and that they would be considered by higher education institutions as being suitable for entry into UK higher education

 

UK NARIC is the UK's national agency responsible for providing qualification information to individuals from outside of the UK who wish to come to the UK to work, study or train. They will be able to provide you with a statement about the comparative level of your qualification to the UK's qualification frameworks. This statement is recognised by universities, colleges and employers throughout the UK

How do I Apply?

Please Note: as our courses are very popular it's advisable to discuss your application with a member of our Enrolments Team before you apply and they will let you know about availability issues and answer any questions you might have. There are no deadlines - selections take place on a first come first served basis. We will make more offers than there are places so it is up to the students to organise their full enrolment quickly if they wish to guarantee a place on the course.

 

Everyone applying to the Met Film School for our BA Programme, regardless of age or location must submit a Met Film School application pack. If you are a UK student aged 18, 19 or 20 you will need to additionally apply through UCAS.
 

Your Met Film School application pack should contain:

 

- A completed Met Film School application form

- A personal statement broken down into three sections answering each question as listed on the form in 500 words or more. This means the essay will be at least 1500 to 2000 words long. We are looking for detailed responses to the questions and expect you to answer them fully. This is an important document which will be an essential part of our selection process

- A copy of your passport - clearly showing the picture page and passport number

- An up to date CV with full educational history and all other work and relevant experience

- A portfolio - scripts, photography, artwork, films etc (NB - this is not an obligatory requirement)

- A copy of any academic transcripts (if appropriate)
 

Please Note: International students who require a visa to study in the UK are advised to apply as soon as possible in order to obtain a CAS for their visa application in time for the start date.

 

All application documents must be scanned and emailed to Tomr@metfilm.co.uk or Stefan@metfilm.co.uk and any other materials should be sent by recorded delivery or couriered to the school with a list of what is included and your name/contact details.

 

Your UCAS application requires you to complete a simple online form. You will need to provide the following information:

 

- Personal details

- Details of our degree programme using the following codes

Institution Code:  W05, UCAS code: W600, Campus Code: E

- Your education and employment history

- A personal statement

- Contact details of a reference

How Do I Enrol?

Once you have sent us your application we will get in touch with you if we wish to take the process further. If successful, you will be contacted to arrange a formal interview where you will be invited to meet with or talk to the Enrolments Team. If you are an international student we can conduct interviews over the phone or Skype.

 

We will then let you know what our decision is within three days of your interview.

 

IIf you are accepted you will then be obliged to complete your enrolment. To do so, you will need to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is paid according to the terms and conditions as described in the offer letter we provide for you. If you are a student applying from outside the EU you will need to pay the entire first year course fee before we will issue a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study to submit with your student visa application.
