Support A Great Feature Doc
An ex-Met Film School student is holding a fantastic fundraising event for upcoming feature-length documentary The Runner. The film tells the story of 27-year-old Salah Ameidan, a world champion long-distance runner from Western Sahara - Africa's last colony - who left behind his family, his athletics career and his citizenship to run for a nation that doesn't exist.
Directed by multi-award winning documentary filmmaker Saeed Taji Farouky The Runner has already garnered support from Ken Loach, amongst others and has been accepted to pitch at Documentary In Europe, StoryDoc and Sunny Side Of The Doc. The film has also just returned from a very successful pitching session at Edinburgh Doc Week.
The fundraising night will take place on Friday July 9th at The Others in Stoke Newington, London and all proceeds will go towards finishing the film. There will be live music, courtesy of Kasiuss and the event offers the opportunity to meet with the director and producers of the film.
