MA: Build your own

There are two study routes available for MA in Filmmaking. Students can apply on a full-time basis, or alternatively they can complete each individual unit of the programme as a short course, enabling them to build their own postgraduate qualification. The units consist of two days training, followed by online tuition.

The individual units are; Drama Production, Production For The Small Screen, Feature Film Production, Documentary Practice, Thinking Beyond: Experimental Film Conception and Creation and Working With Genre, followed by your final research or production project and the compulsory exhibition.

Each unit can be taken as a standalone course, however students who successfully complete the first six units will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Filmmaking, those who complete all eight units will be awarded the MA in Filmmaking qualification. All students, full-time or otherwise, must successfully complete the first six units to continue on to the Masters research or production project phase of the programme.

The cost of each individual unit is £1,200, however students who choose to take each unit individually do not get access to production or post-production facilities or support. This option is only available for UK and EU residents and not international students.
