This unique course has been developed for those of you who wish to forge a career as a film producer, or who wish to gain a deep understanding of the business of film. Alumni from our producing programmers have gone on to work in a variety of areas of film development, prorduction, distribution and exhibition, including at Universal Pictures. A number of alumni have also set up independent production companies.

On this comprehensive course, you will learn how films are created, financed and sold from industry professionals who have recently produced features. This course consists of seminars and workshops.

How the global film industry, and particularly the UK film industry, operates
The roles of different types of producer (creative, line and financial producer)
How the production process works, from identifying a project through pre- and post-production to distribution and exploitation
How to exploit digital technologies and the Internet
How to set up your own production company
How to survive as an independent producer
