Festival Check List

If you are considering entering your film into festivals there are a number of things you should consider before you do. Here is a check list for you to bear in mind… 

 

• Does the festival have a market?
• Does the festival accept all formats?
• Does the festival want world or in-country premiere’s only?
• Will my film be disqualified from this festival if it has been screened online?
• Do I have all rights to the music and any other intellectual property used in my film?
• Will the festival handle all or any shipping associated with delivery of materials?
• If my film is not selected for official competition is it still possible for my submission tape to be available in the market?
• If I'm attending the festival am I expected to introduce my film when it screens?
• Is it possible to get a list of attending delegates in advance (you can therefore target your invitations for your screenings ahead of time)?
• Will the festival be covering the cost of travel/accommodation/food for film makers in official competition?
• Do I have a dialogue list for my film?
