From Story to Screen in Eight Weeks graduate Rick Themistocli's first feature film as a producer has begun shooting Paris. Currently titled Jack Says, the film is based on a popular comic series and the film is faithful to the graphic, film noir look which has seen revived popularity in recent years with films such as Sin City. The film stars Eric Cantona, Aurelie Amblard, Rula Lenska and Mike Reid.
The unforeseen death of Mike Reid during the first few weeks of shooting has lead to unexpected publicity for the project. The subsequent influx of investor interest has given the project new life and it has already attracted the attention of a number of major distributors.
The film is a dark romance which centres on the mysterious Jack. When Jack wakes up with amnesia next to a dead body, he has just enough time and sense to disappear before the police arrive. In an attempt to lay low, he heads to Paris to visit the ex girlfriend he can't remember. But a guy like Jack attracts trouble, and an encounter with the mysterious Girl X draws him and the woman he loves back into a world he's trying hard to avoid - and to remember.
The film is intended for a February 2008 Valentines Day release to tie in with the strong romantic, film noir elements of the film.
Congratulations and good luck to Rick and the rest of the team!

Recently, the Metropolitan Film School helped One-Year Practical Filmmaking student Tom gain work in the film industry on graduating. Only two weeks after finishing at the Metropolitan Film School, Tom was accepted onto a highly competitive two-month internship with Ealing Studios’ production company Fragile Films. “I got the job thanks to the Met who organised the interview for me”. Tom is also currently applying to the LFS post graduate course to continue his studies.
