Met Film School One-Year Practical Filmmaking graduate, Gabriel Tupinamba, has been selected by Shots magazine, the world's leading commercials title, for their 2007 new Directors showcase.
Shots showcases cutting-edge creativity in global advertising. Launched in 1990, it provides ideas and inspiration for creatives internationally as well as being the foremost source of information for the industry.
Published six times a year in magazine and DVD format, Shots selects only the most creatively excellent work including the most innovative TV commercials, the latest work from talented new directors as well as ground-breaking music videos, virals, short films and idents.
Gabriel has been selected to appear in the 2007 showcase based on his graduation film, And The Colours..., that he made here at the Met.
This film has been well-received at festivals around the world, appearing at the 2007 Cannes Short Film Corner earlier this year, the Digital Festival in Florence, Evil City in New York, and Sapporo Film Market in Tokyo. The film will be included in the Film UK Guide to British Film 2007.
(One-Year Practical Filmmaking) was working as a runner and researcher in light entertainment TV before starting our one-year programme. She chose to study with us as, "it was the only school I found that let you write, direct and edit your own films and retain the rights to them. I loved my time at the Met, all the staff are helpful"
