Course Overview

This is the most intensive and practical BA Hons degree in filmmaking available in the UK. You will learn the essential skills required for successful visual storytelling, and receive specialist training in writing, directing and producing both fiction and documentary. You will also master core skills in cinematography, editing and sound. In addition, you and your fellow students will have the opportunity to participate together in the development, production, marketing and distribution of a feature film.

A parallel curriculum of film studies (delivered in partnership with Thames Valley University) allows you both to explore the history of the film and to place your own work within a broader cultural context. By the end of the programme you will have months of production experience, critical insight into the history and grammar of film, and the state of the industry today, a showreel, and the key vocational skills needed to succeed in this highly competitive market.

This programme is for you if:

The programme (BA Film: Video Production and Film Studies) is validated by Thames Valley University (TVU). All students are enrolled with TVU and taught at our specialist facilities within Ealing Studios.
