Dear Filmmakers,
The Met Film School is an exciting place to be, there's always a buzz and it's as invigorating for its tutors as it is for its students. We're not just a school. We're part of an enterprise - Met Film - that makes films, teaches people to make films, and offers post-production services to filmmakers. We live and breathe filmmaking, as do our carefully selected tutors, who are all working industry professionals and are as passionate about teaching as they are about film.
On our courses, every student writes, produces, directs and edits their own short films and is supported by their tutors, a professional director of photography and editor. Students benefit from hands-on experience via numerous shooting and directing exercises, tailored coaching through one-to-one sessions with our tutors, access to state-of-the-art HD technology and the use of our own stage.
We work hard to prepare our students to make films that will work in cinema, but we also understand film in the broader sense, and prepare students for new career paths within the changing digital landscape by providing insight into the various platforms through which film can now be enjoyed, from Internet video-on-demand to mobile phones to HD TV.
We select students who show passion, talent, and determination to succeed, and offer a variety of full-time and part-time programmes to fit your needs, whether you're a school leaver looking for an intensive one-year course; a graduate looking to build on your academic experience with a highly practical filmmaking programme; or a working professional considering a change in career direction.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to your career and offer one-to-one support in preparing you for your career in the film industry. Every year numerous positions in film, television and post-production companies are advertised only to our students, and we're proud of the numbers of our graduates who work within the film and television industries after they leave the school. These include positions in the marketing department of Universal, on the set of the latest Harry Potter film and in the script development department at BBC drama. Students have also gone on to further study, including advanced programmes at the National Film and Television School. Several graduates are employed each year by our sister film production, post-production and digital distribution companies.
We're proud to present our prospectus of courses for the coming year. The best way to discover how we can help your career is to come and meet us. Our Enrolment Advisors are always available so please call on 0845 658 4400 (UK only) or +44 (0)20 8280 9119 to arrange a meeting or simply discuss your needs or Order a Prospectus
We look forward to welcoming you at the school!
